Try a Recipe for Citrus Twist in Guacamole | food drink

Guacamole is a wonderful addition to any Latin American cuisine. Its simple ingredients provide fresh flavors. The avocados are buttery and creamy and the tomatoes provide a shine while the red onion provides a bit of crunch.

Jalapeños can be added for extra heat. For a twist on guacamole, try replacing the typical lime juice with a freshly squeezed orange.

Serve with your favorite fries or alongside your favorite dish from the grill. To store the dip, lay plastic wrap directly on top and smooth out any air bubbles to create a tight seal.

3 ripe avocados

1/2 red onion, finely chopped

2 tomatoes, chopped

1/2 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped

1 jalapeno, finely diced, optional

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

1/2 freshly squeezed orange, lemon or lime

1/2 teaspoon of salt

Gently mash all ingredients together until desired consistency is reached.
