Tender and Juicy Flank Steak Recipe with Citrus Soy Ginger Marinade | Beef

Cookbooks are a slight obsession for me. I have a lot! Lately I’ve been reading some of my old cookbooks and picking out some recipes to make. My latest is this Soy-Ginger Marinated Flank Steak recipe from Keith Famie’s Adventures in Cooking.

“This recipe was created for use with an inexpensive cut of meat commonly known as a flank steak or London grill,” Chef Famie writes in his cookbook. “Marinating tenderizes the meat and gives it an Asian flavor. An important technique to remember when serving meat is to slice it thinly on an angle, ensuring its tenderness.”

Chef Famie served it with an avocado and corn salsa. Try our refreshing corn salsa recipe or serve it with your favorite side dishes or a salad or a fresh garden vegetable. If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the steak in a skillet.

Cuisine: American / Asian

Preparation time: 1 hour to marinate
Cooking time: 10 minutes (depending on desired doneness)
Total duration: 1 hour and 10 minutes
Servings: 4

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Whisk together all the marinade ingredients. Marinate the steak in the mixture for 1 hour, turning it a few times.
  2. Grill the flank steak to medium rare (or desired doneness) on a preheated outdoor grill or indoor grill.
  3. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it against the grain.
