– 2 tablespoons garlic powder

– 2 tablespoons of salt

– 2 tablespoons of black pepper

– ½ cup of ketchup

– ½ cup of root beer

– 2 tablespoons of Worchester sauce

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

– ½ tablespoon of honey

– ½ teaspoon onion powder

– ½ teaspoon garlic powder

– ½ teaspoon of salt

– ½ teaspoon of black pepper

1. Combine sauce ingredients in a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat to cool.

2. Mix the garlic powder, salt and pepper and season the wings on both sides

3. Configure the grill for indirect cooking. (coals placed on one half only.)

4. Place the wings on the other side of the coals to allow the chicken to cook slowly. Once the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees (35-45 minutes), immediately move it to the hot coals. Sear each side (about 45 seconds – 60 per side) and remove once the internal temperature has reached 175 degrees.
