Marinade gives grilled shrimp a boost | Food

Here’s a hot dish that you can grill anytime! This tasty marinade will give your shrimp a boost of flavor. Plus, it’s easy to prepare and quick to grill.

This recipe makes five 1/3 cup servings.

Ingredients for the marinade

1 pound of shrimp; frozen or fresh peeled and deveined

1/4 cup of lime juice is. 2 files

2 tablespoons minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon coconut aminos

1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Ingredients for the dill dip

8 ounce container of low fat plain Greek yogurt

2 teaspoons of garlic powder

2 tablespoons of chopped fresh dill

Ingredients for the garnish

1. Prepare the shrimp, if frozen, allow them to thaw. If fresh, peel and deveine.

2. Next, remove 6 teaspoons of zest and squeeze out ¼ cup of lime juice.

3. Place jalapeño (optional remove seeds), green onion and cilantro in food processor and pulse toss.

4. Then combine the olive oil, lime juice, pineapple juice, zest, garlic (minced), coconut amino acids and black pepper in a bowl. Combine the processed ingredients to create a marinade.

5. Pour the marinade into a large, sealable food-safe plastic bag. Gather your thawed shrimp and place them in the marinade (plastic bag). Before sealing, expel excess air, then seal.

6. Marinate the shrimp in the refrigerator for about 10 to 30 minutes (max).

7. While the shrimp marinate, prepare your dill dip. Take a medium bowl, combine the yogurt, lime zest, lime juice, garlic powder and dill. Cover and refrigerate.

8. You are now ready to grill; you can thread the shrimp onto skewers (see advice on wooden skewers) or place them in a drip pan above the stove.

9. Grill the shrimp over direct medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, turning the shrimp halfway through the process. Make sure the shrimp are pink and cooked through – a fully cooked shrimp measures 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Check the temperature!

10. When finished, remove the shrimp from the grill and squeeze out a little lime juice (optional).

11. You are now ready to serve – garnish your shrimp with cilantro and lime wedges. Pair it with one of our side dishes.
