Best Recipe for Drumsticks with Garlic and Brown Sugar

Chicken dinner doesn’t get much easier or more delicious than these 7-ingredient drumsticks. They’re perfect served for dinner with plain rice, roast potatoes, or bok choy, on your tailgate appetizer table, or with grilled corn and coleslaw at your next barbecue.

Growing up, my mom would sprinkle brown sugar and garlic powder on chicken drumsticks, bake them, and voila: a chicken dish that had a delicious sauce with just 3 ingredients. My version adds soy sauce and ketchup for a touch more umami and richness in the sauce and finishes it off with savory scallions and sesame seeds. Don’t worry about it being too sweet – think more teriyaki sauce than dessert.

Shred leftover chicken and pile it into grain bowls, or toss it with chopped romaine lettuce for a level chicken salad.
