BBQ Chicken Marinade: How to Make a BBQ Chicken Marinade

BBQs are the perfect summer treat, with an array of foods and recipes to reheat over the coals. With soaring temperatures and the UK recording the hottest day of the year this week, it may be the perfect time to head out to the garden for a barbecue.

Traditionally, burgers, chicken and ribs are barbecued, with a range of recipes to choose from.

Pairing meat – or vegetarian options like tofu for a range of diets – with salad, coleslaw, and bread makes the perfect alfresco meal.

With the dying embers of the barbecue, you can try sautéing marshmallows on skewers and toasting them for a sweet treat.

Cook the chicken – Oven

Heat the oven to 200C / fan 180C / gas 6. Pour the chicken and the sauce in a large roasting tin and space the drumsticks.

Carefully place the roasting pan in the oven using oven mitts, then set the timer for 20 minutes.

When the time is up, gently remove the chicken from the oven.

Brush the chicken with the glaze in the roasting pan, then return to the oven for an additional 15 min.

Cook the chicken – BBQ

You can also add to a hot barbecue and cook until golden, taking time to brush the chicken with any excess frosting during the cooking process.

Bone-in chicken will usually take about 35 to 45 minutes to cook.
